![]() Defense attorneys representing the three police officers accused of the Oct. 12, 1995 murder of Jonny Gammage are attempting to bring somewhat substantial evidence into the limelight: the fact that Gammage had two other police confrontations after traffic stops in his hometown of Syracuse, New York. According to information, the two similar Syracuse incidents involved Gammage getting out of his vehicle after traffic stops and not immediately obeying the police. Defense wanted to use information from the two conflicts in their clients' trials, but prosecution adamantly didn't want the evidence entered. During the trial of Brentwood Lt. Milton E. Mulholland and Baldwin Borough officer Michael Albert (which ended in a mistrial on Oct. 18th), Common Pleas Judge David R. Cashman ruled that the representative defense attorneys were not allowed to give any information regarding the two incidents to the present jurors. Anthony J. Krastek, Deputy District Attorney, also hopes to keep the information out of the trial of Brentwood Patrolman John Vojtas. Visit the OnTV Bulletin Archive. |
