Gore @ Pitt

On Tuesday, July 9th, close to 200 ticket-holding guests packed the University of Pittsburgh's William Pitt Student Union ballroom in order to hear the vice president of the United States speak.

The organizers distributed just enough yellow tickets to provide the right "television-ready" atmosphere they wanted -- a nice, positive, interactive crowd.

Flanked by leafy green ferns on the stage, Gore elicited inspiring anecdotes and words of praise for the tuition proposals that the administration is trying to push through a Republican-controlled conference committee in Washington. He also tried to spark a positive response over the White House's plan to push for tuition tax credits.

Other prominent (and not-so-prominent-anymore) officials were present among the overwhelming student crowd during the presentation, such as county Comissioner Bob Cranmer, and former Mayor Sophie Masloff.
